A Message from Governor Riley

Welcome to stimulus.alabama.gov, Alabama's website for information regarding the new federal stimulus package passed by Congress and signed by the President.
Alabama is expected to receive about $3 billion from the federal stimulus law. Even more is possible through competitive grants. As a taxpayer, this is your money and you have the right to know exactly how it is going to be spent.
My administration is committed to making sure Alabama carries out its responsibilities under this law with full transparency and accountability. That’s why we have created this website. It is designed to provide Alabama citizens and groups with general information about what is contained in the federal stimulus package, how to submit applications for the various grants and loans available, and how to track Alabama’s use of stimulus funds. Much of the information regarding individual programs and applications is not yet available, as states are awaiting further guidance from federal agencies at this time. However, this website will be periodically updated with new information as it becomes available.
To assist in this effort, I have asked Drayton Nabers, a former CEO, State Finance Director and Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, to coordinate the implementation of the stimulus package in Alabama. Justice Nabers will work closely with me, with state agency directors, and with public and private sector leaders across Alabama to ensure that Alabama not only receives its fair share of these tax dollars, but also that we use them wisely to provide a solid foundation for economic growth now and in the future.
Sincerely,
Governor Bob Riley
